Blog Entry: Whether it's investing, competing in sports or conducting business, always stick to the basics. Coming from a vain pretty boy like myself may be surprising but true. Sure you can be hooked by the good looks, fancy talk and big promises, but in the end, it's about getting the best deal.

This means paying attention to the basics. Take investing for example, the best performing mutual funds are the ones that have low fees, have a simple investment philosophy and delivers on the results. The funds to avoid are the ones that charge you an arm and a leg, and have a fancy mandate to out perform the market.
The reality is most mutual funds underperform the market.
